Alexa Samuelson, MFT-LP
There are many ways to treat patients effectively. The question people ask is which one works. This is something we will figure out together as there is no one size fits all approach. I provide a safe, supportive and collaborative space for your thoughts, worries, concerns, and hopes.
My goal is to continuously provide psychological services that promote individual growth and psychological health. Psychological treatment first begins with clearly understanding and identifying your goals then establishing a treatment plan based on those individualized goals. I understand that each patient that I work with is a unique individual influenced by their culture, family, values and beliefs, and personal identity and I strive to honor and respect your uniqueness.
I have a Bachelor of Art in psychology from Stony Brook University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide. I have experience working with children and adolescents struggling with anxiety & depression. I also have experience working with a variety of issues such as: trauma, sleep issues, behavioral issues, personality disorders, mood disorders, developmental disorders, ADHD, OCD, Autism, parenting, coping skills, anger management, impulse control, marital issues, infidelity, relationship issues, women’s issues, life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, communication skills & low self esteem.
Seeking out support is often difficult. Taking the first step is the beginning of a new journey to a healthier you.
